David Sweenor 0:00 You. Hello everyone, and welcome to the data faces podcast on page and our founder of TinyTechGuides and your hosts for today’s show, may have heard of the data puppets. They are a hilarious group of characters created by Scott Taylor. Feature a CDO, the chief dog officer who hires a cat solvent from meow Kinsey tries to solve typical enterprise data problems on the data face podcast is I usually interview someone with a whole face, but today I’m pleased to welcome from data puppets. Speaker 1 0:36 Ai. Hey, how you doing? David, nice to see you. Ai, that’s me.

David Sweenor 0:43 But aren’t you technically an I, Speaker 1 0:47 you know, look, I choose my own indefinite article. All right, I’m A I. Personal Branding is important.

David Sweenor 0:53 Well, I suppose that seems reasonable. I Speaker 1 0:56 mean, to make you more comfortable, I used to be an IT. To make you more comfortable. I used to be an IT.

David Sweenor 1:05 So where are you from? Exactly,

A-Eye 1:09 at cornea Park.

David Sweenor 1:11 Cornea Park. Where is that? Speaker 1 1:13 It’s over by retina gardens. I’m on the island, right? That’s where they call it dater.

David Sweenor 1:18 I mean, you attended this. That’s you attended the big data and analytics summit recently. What did you see? Speaker 1 1:29 I mean, I saw me everywhere. AI was everywhere, regular. Ai, jet. Ai, agentic. Ai, autonomous. AI in the loop. Ai, out of the loop. AI, trapped in the loop. Ai, some vendors were basing the whole future on it, and two years ago, they couldn’t even spell

David Sweenor 1:45 AI. Wow, that’s quite impressive. Speaker 1 1:47 I they’re all talking about me. That’s all they’re talking about. I mean, you don’t hear much about data measure fabric anymore, do you It’s refreshing,

David Sweenor 1:55 is it?

A-Eye 1:56 I’m the biggest thing since big data.

David Sweenor 2:00 You know, agents especially are everywhere. I Speaker 1 2:03 love it. I love it. I never seen anything like it. Agents writing code, agents reviewing code, deploying code, and then apologizing for the code. It’s a it’s a total system.

David Sweenor 2:13 Do you find that a lot of data leaders are just still AI curious. Speaker 1 2:19 I spoke with CDOs, cdaos, C, D, A, i, o, u, and sometimes Y O’s, and they’re all saying the same thing. We know we’re wasting half our AI budget. We just don’t know which half.

David Sweenor 2:31 So the challenge is, if the data quality isn’t good, then AI will have problems. Speaker 1 2:36 Look, they’ve been whining about data quality ever since there was data. If it was data. If it was that important, would it have been solved by now? AI is doing just fine on its own.

David Sweenor 2:47 So you’ve had if you have AI, then you don’t need data Speaker 1 2:50 governance, right? AI is the ozempic for data governance, baby. Your Data never looks so good starting in two to three weeks with proper exercise and diet, of course, but yeah, we can do it.

David Sweenor 3:02 Well. Any last words of advice for data Speaker 1 3:04 leaders, you know, David, sometimes the data don’t swing. The charts are flat, the insights won’t ring. But when the groove feels gone and your deadlines nigh, just add a little AI. No matter what you do, no matter what you try, just add a little AI and a little AI, seriously, is another ditty here you can sing it with me. All right, ready? Old McDonald had some beta.

David Sweenor 3:33 Ai, well, thanks for being here. Speaker 1 3:37 Ai, let’s do Old McDonald again here. So here’s a little bitty. You can sing it with me. All right, Old MacDonald had some data. Ai. Oh, there we go, beautiful, you’re hired. Well, thanks for being here. Hey. Thanks for having me, David. It’s great to be here. Cheers. All right. All right, we’re good. I apologize.
