About TinyTechGuides

TinyTechGuides exists for the practitioners, leaders, and executives who never seem to have enough time to keep up with technology. Every guide is built to be read in an hour or two, and every one is focused on a single question: how do you actually apply this in a real business, government, or classroom?

We skip the hype and share what we have learned the hard way, so you can turn hard-won knowledge into action. The books are short on purpose. The ideas are not.

Remember, it’s not the tech that’s tiny, just the book.

About David Sweenor

David Sweenor, founder of TinyTechGuides

David Sweenor is a practitioner turned strategist who has spent more than 25 years making data, analytics, and AI work in the real world. He is the founder of TinyTechGuides and the host of the Data Faces podcast, where he talks with the people actually building and deploying data, analytics, AI, and marketing at scale.

His career has two distinct chapters, and the combination is the whole point. He spent his early years inside IBM as a data science and data warehousing practitioner, on the front lines of yield engineering and analytics, where he learned the messy middle of data that never shows up on a marketing slide. He then moved into global product and technical marketing leadership at SAS, Dell, TIBCO, Alteryx, and Alation.

That dual lens is what shapes everything he writes and says. He knows how the tools are built, and he knows how they are sold, so he can cut through vendor hype and focus on what genuinely works in production. He is the author of 11 books, holds several patents, and has been named a Top 25 AI Thought Leader and a Top 10 Big Data and Analytics thought leader by Thinkers360, along with a place on the 2023 DataIQ 100.

When he is not writing or advising leadership teams, David is usually reading history or perfecting his sourdough and bagels, which, he will tell you, demand the same precision as good data science.
